Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020
My background is in photography, but mixed media has become a significant part of my artistic journey. Building on and drawing from my extensive experience in photography, I began integrating mixed media techniques and experimenting with innovative printing methods and diverse materials.
Each piece begins with a photographic image of a landscape, studio, or cityscape. It continues with handmade, cotton-based paper carefully treated with various emulsions and textures to enhance the final look. The process ensures that every piece is one of a kind, blending image and material into distinctive artwork, bringing depth and detail while creating a tactile quality that invites closer appreciation. This approach allows me to focus on capturing the essence of mood and the transience of memories.
In 2020, I had the honour of being named the Landscape Photographer of the Year UK for my image "Silent Covid Morning," which won the special category 'My Isolation Landscape.
IMPERFECT DEFECT
Mixed media on handmade cotton-based paper, mounted on wood panel and framed. 122cm x 72cm x 4cm.
A cityscape crafted from factual, imperfect moments—images once fixed in time, now unravelled and reassembled fragments that shift the past into a new present — one that has already passed.
London folds time into itself—layered, re-photographed, painted over, cut, and reconfigured.
